The Past Week

Jack Hanekom and Carl Alakija both went to East London and Port Elizabeth to row in the Buffalo Regatta. They left on the Wednesday morning and arrived on the Sunday afternoon. In Jacks words, “We had a jol of a time there!” They were part of the first ever U16A VIII crew who won race that they were in at Buffalo Regatta and were off the record by 3 seconds.

Carl Alakija is off to London, England (not East) to go and look at his new school. He has written 9 entrance exams to get into his new extravagant school. It is near the Arsenal- Emirates stadium and he will go to train with their academy with his furious left foot. One day he might make the Nigerian soccer squad.

Mahatma Ulimwengu who holds the Tanzanian record for 50m backstroke failed to show his ability as he never finished the 100m backward swimming event. Matthew McGregor and Chris Rossouw both swam and should make the interhouse gala.

Noks Shikongo has come out with his first smash hit single and has spread throughout the whole school and is being offered a contract by a prominent Namibian record label on Monday. Monday is his birthday and we wish him well.

Oliver takes the sportsman of the week in our dorm as he wrapped up 5 wickets for 16 runs against Sacs for the 3rd XI, apparently most of the runs came from wides!
