On the weekend we said goodbye to the two exchange students who had been living with us for the past few weeks. We also said goodbye to Jaydon and Chris, who leave on exchange on Monday and Wednesday.
It has been a quite a good week for the house and some of the guys in our dorm. Jack, CG, and Sean all played in the interhouse basketball, which white house won. The interhouse 7s rugby is coming up soon, and our very own Remy Miller has been made captain of the junior rugby 7s side. No one in our dorm made the senior side unfortunately.
Mahatma has organised a soccer team, made up of grade 10s to play against St Josephs next week Friday. The time and venue will be up soon.
Oliver and Pooch have both been placed in Saturday detention for attempting to bunk chapel on Thursday morning.

Another Week in Grade 10...

This week has flown by. The academic dinner on Thursday was one to remember for the Grade 10 dorm. We were acknowledged for winning the most points for Eisteddfod (well, 2nd behind the almighty Matrics). In doing so, we had 5 boys given GCWH awards. These include: Oliver belcher, Jack Hanekom, Chris Rossouw, Jaydon Farao, and Allen Maimba. Allen won the most points for White House in regards to Music, which is very commendable. Well-done Allen.

In other news many of our tutor groups have gone on outings recently, and others are still to come.

The Dorm has a buzzing excitement as everyone looks forward to the upcoming inter-house sport events (soccer, rugby and hockey and golf). With all the early preparations being mad it looks like this year is going to be a cracker for White House yet again.

Jaydon, Chris and Jack will be attending their last days of 2011 at Bishops on Friday and are shipping of to their new destinations for the rest of the year as part of the Exchange program.

Pops and Stuff

Jaydon and Chris featured in the brass band, wind band and the choir; jaydon was also in the singing sensation The Swing medley.

Chris conducted the school orchestra, due to this received the South African royal schools scholarship for conducting.
Jaydon Farao (first team choir captain) got into a stage argument with the famous Peter Muhofa.

All round, White House was a great success in this year’s annual Pops 2011.

Mahatma Ulimwengu, who has recently beaten Jaydon Farao & Justin Wyatt-Smith on reaching his half century of series watching is now closing in on the all-time record of 94 held by Allen Maimba… Well done to him? If anybody is interested in any leg-shaving specialist then please speak to Chris Rossouw who has finally decided on his impending career…

Jack and Allen are leaving to Grahamstown to play St Andrews on Saturday morning.

Beginning of 3rd Term

Another tough week in the dorm but we welcome Oliver Boles and Andrew Butler to our dorm, from Isle of Man and England respectively. They are on exchange at Bishops until the end of the term. Oli runs the 100 in 11.4 while Andy bench presses close to 130kg. The hot topic of the week was the quest for a hot shower. The Bishops Pops has taken over the lives of Chris, Jaydon and Allen. Most of the holiday talk is still going on, mostly by Mahatma about his valiant attempt at climbing up Mt. Kilimanjaro. He was 200 meters away from the top before being rushed down with altitude sickness. His proud of himself and will go back these holidays coming.  An awesome weekend is in store for most people of the dorm!

The Week's Nonsense

Jaydon finally got to watch his first 16-rated movie! He went out on Tuesday with his parents and watched ‘Saw 7’. He thought that the experience was great even though it was so gruesome that he was unable to sleep that night.
Justin Wyatt-Smith and has officially made his first website! However, the release has not been finalized.
Jack is still waiting on his Western Province rowing results, but will be receiving a rowing tie on Friday morning in chapel. A rowing tie is only awarded to first team rowers and South African schools championship medalists. Well done Jack!
Justin, Jaydon and Matthew have made the ensemble group for White House ensemble.
CG is taking part in a basketball tournament on Monday the 21st of March. Only the most prestigious basketball schools in the Western Cape take part in this annual tournament.
Mahatma has injured his calf playing a little game of touch rugby on the grass in the White House quad, and will be out for the rest of Rygersdal soccer club’s season.
Justin, Jaydon and Matthew will be taking part in the u16 hockey trials and hoping to make the u16B team.
Our very own Knox Shikonga and Peter Anguria (School House) have made a new song! But the release date has been delayed indefinitely due to mastering problems.
Remy Miller is continuing his early morning rugby training with Mr Jacobs who is best known for his saying, “LET’S GO BLOUTJIES!”
And finally......there’s only two weeks of school left!
